About AACIL

For people who use symbol-based AAC, a drawing of a tablet and two floating hands. one hand is holding the left side of the tablet, and the other is pushing a button on the aac app.

the symbols or images️ we have access to decide what we can say and how we can say it. an emoji yellow person tapping their blue talker. a blank speech bubble comes from it.

Most symbol libraries leave out symbolsa person touching their face next to their mouth with their index finger. a thought bubble is floating above their head. It has a key on a keychain and a question mark in it.

about things that are very important to be able to talk about, like:

At AACIL, every single image is coded into the website a grey computer mouse, with the left button light red, and three yellow action lines coming from the button.

About the website

The images are stored in categories. Artwork depicting a triangle with the wide end at the top and the thin end at the bottom. The triangle is divided into 7 stripes, colored in rainbow colors. Next to the triangle is a circle with a paw print, leaf, and microorganism inside.

Sometimes, it might be hard to know where to find an image, or know what images are on the website. an emoji yellow face with three blue question marks around their face.

We know this can and should be better, and are working every day to make AACIL better.

Every day, we also add new images. 1 blue dot a plus sign and then 6 blue dots.
